On Saturday, news broke that Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus. The NFL’s monitoring of the New England Patriots’ COVID-19 situation led to the game against the Kansas City Chiefs being postponed from Sunday to Monday.

On Sunday, Newton spoke out on social media. In a note posted to Instagram, Newton thanked his fans for their well-wishes. For those who don’t want to decipher Newton’s alternative fonts, here’s what he wrote:

“I will never question God’s reasoning, just will always respond with, ‘Yes, Lord!’ I appreciate all the love, support and well wishes. I will take this time to get healthy and self-reflect on the other amazing things that I should be grateful for.”

The Patriots are 2-1 with Newton as starting quarterback. The former Auburn standout is 62-of-91 passing for 714 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions through three games. Newton has also rushed 35 times for 149 yards and 4 touchdowns.
