Committee surprises, puts Auburn in top four
The inaugural College Football Playoff Top 25 was unveiled on Monday night.
With a road win at Big 12 favorite Kansas State and a 34-point obliteration of No. 19 LSU, the Auburn Tigers were in the top four bracket at No. 3.
The Tigers, as of Monday night, would be matched up with No. 2 Florida State in a rematch of the 2013 BCS Championship Game.
The Tigers’ only loss is on the road at No. 1 Mississippi State. The Tigers still have to face No. 4 Ole Miss, N0. 11 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama. Auburn very much controls its own destiny, both in the SEC West and in the College Football Playoff field.
The Tigers will go on the road Saturday night in a virtual elimination game against No. 4 Ole Miss.
