Dan Lanning asked about reported interest in Auburn job
Dan Lanning says he’s not interested in leaving Oregon to coach on The Plains.
Auburn Daily, a Sports Illustrated-affiliated AU fan site, reported mutual interest between Lanning and Auburn on Sunday. Lanning was asked about those reports during a Monday media opportunity.
Lanning told reporters that he wants to coach at Oregon as long as the Ducks will have him.
I asked Dan Lanning about the report by Sports Illustrated, saying there is mutual interest between him and Auburn. He quickly shot that rumor down. Confirmed he’s all in on Oregon.

After 3 seasons as Georgia’s defensive coordinator, capped by UGA’s 2021 national championship, Lanning left to take the Oregon head coaching job.
The Ducks are 8-1 and in the College Football Playoff hunt under Lanning this season. Oregon’s only loss of the 2022 season came to Georgia 49-3 in Week 1.
Lanning, 36, has been in coaching since 2008. He was also part of a national championship staff at Alabama in 2015 as a grad assistant.
