Jeff Holland’s time with the Denver Broncos has run out after the former Auburn linebacker signed with the team as an undrafted rookie a year ago.
The Denver Post reported that undrafted rookie Malik Reed made a strong early showing in training camp, including two sacks and five tackles in two preseason games. Reed’s performance led the team to release Holland. Holland split time last season between the practice squad and active roster.
Holland was among the sack leaders in the SEC in 2017, and led Auburn with 10. When Holland left the team, he was the fourth non-senior to depart the program early.
Holland, listed at 6-foot-2 and 249 pounds, appeared in three games last season, and made six tackles.
Broncos waived OLB Jeff Holland, source confirmed.
