As we continue to make our way through May, former Auburn great Cam Newton still doesn’t have an NFL home.

After leaving the Carolina Panthers this offseason, he’s still waiting to sign with another team ahead of the 2020 campaign. There aren’t many starting jobs open around the league, but there are still a few teams that could use a quarterback with Newton’s talent.

During an appearance on SportsCenter on Tuesday night, ESPN analyst and former NFL QB Tim Hasselbeck said the New England Patriots would be an ideal landing spot for Newton (via 247Sports):

“I think (New England) is the perfect landing spot for Cam,” Hasselbeck said. “Take away 2019 where he was hurt and you look at the full previous seasons — he threw for 100 touchdowns and rushed for 25. His production is undeniable. You can’t ignore it. So if I were Cam Newton, one of the places I would be trying to get to is New England to compete with Jarrett Stidham and whatever else they have in the (QB) room in New England.”

Newton was the NFL’s MVP in 2015 and has made 3 Pro Bowls during his career. Where will he end up for 2020? We should find out over the next few weeks.
