After entering the transfer portal earlier this month, former Auburn offensive lineman Justin Osborne appears to have found a new team. Osborne is now listed on SMU’s roster, as earlier observed by Billy Embody of 247Sports and others.

Osborne redshirted during his first season for Auburn and did not see the field for the Tigers.

SMU was one of 17 schools to offer the Flower Mound, Texas native who was a 3-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. Osborne’s prep career began at Marcus High School before he transferred to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida to complete his career.

SMU opens its season on Sept. 5 at Texas State. As an undergraduate transfer, Osborne will need an immediate eligibility waiver from the NCAA to suit up for the Mustangs this season. With the NCAA’s decision to pause the eligibility clock for 2020, Osborne will be a redshirt freshman in 2021 with or without the waiver.
