Former Auburn RB Cadillac Williams lands intriguing new coaching opportunity
Former Auburn star RB Carnell “Cadillac” Williams has been coaching at IMG Academy recently, working with a pair of the nation’s best current running back recruits.
Now, he’s landed a new gig (likely one that will allow him to continue his work at IMG) in the pro ranks.
Per a tweet from the Alliance of American Football on Tuesday, Williams will join the Birmingham Iron coaching staff as the team’s RB coach:
.@AafIron Strengthen Coaching Core:
Steve Logan – Offensive Coordinator
Dave Magazu – O-Line Coach
Carnell Williams – Running Backs Coach
Ray Rychleski – Special Teams Coach
Martin Bayless – Defensive Backs Coach
Ray Hamilton – D-Line Coach— The Alliance (@TheAAF) October 9, 2018
Obviously, that’s a big step for Williams, who could soon find himself moving up the ranks as an assistant coach.
For now, though, he has a new gig in a new pro league, and we’ll have to see how he and the Iron fare during the inaugural season.
