Cameron Artis-Payne hasn’t been with an NFL team since the 2019 offseason, but he’s still playing professional football.

The former Auburn running back scored the game-winning touchdown in his first start with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

Artis-Payne was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. After playing in 32 games over 4 seasons (2015-18), Artis-Payne was let go by the Panthers ahead of the 2019 season. His next professional opportunity came in the revived XFL’s shortened 2020 season with the Dallas Renegades. Artis-Payne signed with the Alouettes on Feb. 23, 2021.

In Monday’s game against Ottawa, Artis-Payne’s second in the CFL, the former Tiger logged 21 carries for 122 yards and the above TD. Montreal won 20-16.
