Auburn has been losing juniors to the NFL left and right lately, so coach Gus Malzahn has gotten pretty good at releasing statements wishing players the best luck.

On Wednesday night, he had to release yet another statement, as star LB Jeff Holland announced he’d be heading to the 2018 NFL Draft.

As you can see below, Malzahn says Holland’s love and passion for football is contagious and thanks him for his efforts at Auburn:

Holland had 45 total tackles (12.5 for a loss) and 9.5 sacks this year, a breakout performance for the junior linebacker.

He’ll be tough for DC Kevin Steele to replace, but the Tigers will find someone else to plug into that spot next year.

Meanwhile, Holland will be doing his thing on Sundays, where he’ll try to follow in the footsteps of former Auburn DE Carl Lawson, who led all NFL rookies in sacks this year.
