Gus Malzahn explains why Auburn doesn't have a full 25 players in its 2019 recruiting class
As things stand now, with National Signing Day winding down, the Auburn Tigers have 21 players committed to their 2019 class.
You can sign up to 25 players in any given class, though, so why didn’t coach Gus Malzahn and his staff fill those last few spots?
During a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Malzahn said the Tigers want to leave open the possibility of having a few transfers and graduate transfers join the team in the coming months:
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn on his signing class: “We strategically kept two to three spots just like we did last year,” mentioning the possibility for transfers to come in this offseason.

Currently, the Tigers’ 21-person 2019 class ranks No. 11 in the nation and No. 6 in the SEC, per the 247Sports rankings.
With the way players are transferring these days, the Tigers should be able to find a couple of guys to join their class soon.
