Auburn was missing a veteran pass-rusher on defense Saturday against Arkansas.

Junior BUCK Nick Coe made the trip to Fayetteville and was observed going through pregame warm-ups by reporters, but did not play in the game. Malzahn told reporters that Coe “did not meet our standard in practice this week” when reporters asked about the veteran defender during the postgame press conference.

Obviously, Coe not playing did not hurt the Tigers. AU rolled to a 51-10 win on Saturday. The defense logged recorded 9 tackles for loss and 3 sacks against the Razorbacks.

Coe has played in Auburn’s six other games. Hw has recorded 10 total tackles, including 2 for loss, in 2019, a disappointing start after putting up big numbers in 2018 (13.5 TFL, 7 sacks).

Coe’s Auburn Tigers take on the No. 2 LSU Tigers next Saturday in Baton Rouge.
