Gene Chizik knows a thing or two about Auburn football.

The former Tigers head coach led the program to a national championship during the 2010 season. Of course, two major factors were Gus Malzahn, his then-OC, and Cam Newton, but Chizik was the head man.

Chizik isn’t coaching anymore; he’s spending more time with his family and working as an analyst for the SEC Network. He’s very good on TV, and a major part of that is because he understands what every coach and player are going through. Following his career at Auburn, Chizik became the defensive coordinator for North Carolina, but he resigned in February of 2017 to spend more time with his family.

It’s not often we see former coaches who were fired come back to speak at schools, and this was certainly an incredible gesture by Malzahn and the university.
