The Auburn Tigers are 5-1 and have jumped out to a 3-0 mark in SEC play, but they haven’t faced a road test as tough as LSU since conference play started.

Therefore, coach Gus Malzahn’s squad is taking this weekend’s game in Baton Rouge seriously, taking extra precautions to avoid a letdown.

Though LSU has struggled this year, it is coming off a big win at Florida last week. On Malzahn’s Thursday evening radio show, the Auburn coach said anyone can pull off an upset in SEC play (via AL.com):

“College football is week-to-week…. Every game, you got to answer the bell. If you want a chance to have a good season, you got to find a way to do that.”

LSU’s last home game was a disappointing loss to Troy, so fans will be eager to see a better home performance this time around.
