Thanks to a total team effort, Auburn found a way to claw back against Oregon and eventual stun the Ducks in a 27-21 thriller Saturday night from Arlington’s AT&T Stadium.

The game was ultimately won when Bo Nix hit receiver Seth Williams on a 26-yard pass with only nine seconds remaining in the game. Until that point, Oregon held the lead in the contest dating back to the 10:13 mark in the first quarter. Auburn had not held the lead in the game until nine seconds remained in the game.

Immediately after the game, Malzahn shared his thoughts on the epic season-opening contest.

“We didn’t play our best, you have to give them credit, they are a really good team,” Malzahn said from the field. “We came out with a hot start, turned the ball over, we didn’t play our best but we found a way to win. I’m real proud of this group, I think you’ll see that team win a bunch of game and I think we are one of the best teams in the country.”

Malzahn was asked about his team’s incredible comeback performance.

“We got a lot of character, we got a lot of guts, a lot of leadership. Halftime, it was kind of tough but we just believed we were going to win the game. Our defense came up big, of course our offense, we struggled a little bit but when it mattered, Seth Williams made the play to win the game.”
