Gus Malzahn to appear as guest studio analyst for Georgia-Florida game
Gus Malzahn doesn’t have a game to coach Saturday during Auburn’s bye week, but he’ll still be keeping a close eye on at least one SEC contest.
The Tigers coach will appear on CBS as a guest studio analyst for Georgia and Florida’s rivalry game, the network announced in a tweet Thursday.

No. 7 Georgia (6-1, 4-1 SEC) and the No. 9 Gators (6-1, 4-1) kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Jacksonville. Malzahn will be a part of the pregame coverage an hour before the game and will stick with the studio team through its halftime analysis. As someone who has to game plan for the Bulldogs every year, Malzahn’s insights will be valuable for the brodacast.
If anything, Malzahn’ studio appearance can distract him from the heat he’s been feeling for Auburn’s disappointing season. The timing of his appearance on CBS almost makes you wonder if he might consider an analyst gig should the grumbling about his coaching get him fired in the coming months.
The ratings should be through the roof on this. Gus’s keen insight on someone else’s problems should be hilarious. “Georgia is not running the ball well and stuff” Keen insight Gus
Are you saying Gus has terrible insight when it comes to coaching or what?
I would think he would be recruiting during the bye week.
Or at least trying to fix his OWN team!
Well the game is on Saturday so he probably will do most of his recruiting on Friday night. It is also an evaluation period. He can’t make contact with prospective student athletes off campus
Gus Bus see’s the writing on the wall. Time to follow Chizik into the commentating biz

Bad PR move IMO. Surprised AD Greene would allow it … even if no contract restriction, Greene should at least tell him it looks bad.
