Gus Malzahn hires ex-Auburn analyst, former Opelika HS coach
Another former Auburn staffer is joining Gus Malzahn at UCF.
On Sunday, Malzahn tweeted an announcement that he has hired Brian Blackmon to coach UCF’s special teams and tight ends.
Blackmon heads to UCF after spending the last three seasons at Troy. Blackmon was on Malzahn’s staff as an offensive analyst for the Tigers’ 2017 SEC West championship campaign.
Auburn-area football fans also know Blackmon as a long-time coach at Opelika High School. Blackmon received Class 6A Coach of the Year in 2012 recognition from multiple organizations and publications.

Last time I looked, Gus got fired from Auburn back in December.
And there is more posts about him and his cronies that he is hiring than about AU on these pages.
If UCF has a page here, put it on that.
Don’t you guys know how to dig for Auburn articles?? Or cut and paste some of them??
Gus doesn’t work for us anymore.
Good point. Enough already.
Gus is gone, we’ve moved on, Don’t care about UCF. Now if these beat writers would move on too.
Nice to hear about Gus, but we don’t care which assistants he brings in. There could be so many more good Auburn articles on here.
