Hugh Freeze was incensed after the officials in the Iron Bowl didn’t call a flag against Alabama on a blatant facemask call on a kick return early in the Iron Bowl.
Kendrick Law ripped the facemask around of Auburn’s kick returner, Brian Battie, on the play, and a penalty was called against Auburn.
“You’d have to not understand football not to see this,” CBS Sports broadcaster Gary Danielson said.
His initial reaction was this: “OK, I get it. Maybe there was a block in the back, but there for sure was a (facemask) penalty.”
Even Brad Nessler jumped in and said, “This is as blatant as you’re ever going to get. That’s the worst non-call I’ve seen this year.”
Freeze even went after a linesman after the non-call, but the official ignored the Auburn coach.
The flag on the play was on Auburn.
