Hugh Freeze met with reporters on Monday afternoon to help preview the Iron Bowl next weekend.
Freeze acknowledged that beating Alabama will be a “tall task,” but he indicated that he’s drawing on last year’s game vs. the Crimson Tide for confidence.
A year ago, Auburn had Alabama on the ropes but the Crimson Tide were able to escape thanks to a miracle touchdown pass from Jalen Milroe to Isaiah Bond on 4th and 31.
“Their roster is deeper,” Freeze said. “But it was deeper last year too, and we had a shot to win it.”

Auburn still has a chance to get bowl-eligible in Week 14 thanks to its overtime win over Texas A&M this past weekend. However, that would require the Tigers pulling off a second consecutive top-25 upset.
Auburn has not won in Tuscaloosa since 2010 when Cam Newton was playing quarterback for the Tigers.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
