Hugh Freeze met with media at the SEC’s weekly teleconference Wednesday afternoon. During his time slot, Freeze noted that sophomore wide receiver Jay Fair has big expectations moving forward with the Tigers.

In particular, Freeze noted that he and Ja’Varrius Johnson are great route-runners, also noting that Fair’s ball skills are “extremely great.”

Check out more of what he had to say regarding Fair below:

“He and Var are both great route runners and have extremely great ball skills. So provide that with the twitchiness that both of them have, it makes for a solid receiver and this league obviously you wish you had more catch radius, but there’s been some their sizes that have performed well in this league. Certainly we’re expecting big things from both of them, we need them both to play really well.”

Fair played in 10 games as a true freshman last season and has already left his mark this year, hauling in 14 receptions for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns through Week 3.

He’ll have a chance to add to that this week as the Tigers face off against Texas A&M at Noon in College Station.
