Auburn and Alabama delivered another classic in the Iron Bowl on Saturday night. The Tigers held 33-21 lead in the third quarter before the Crimson Tide offense exploded to go on a 34-3 run to win, 55-44.

The loss caps a disappointing season for the Tigers (8-4, 4-4 SEC) who had championship aspirations at the outset of the 2014 campaign. Following the loss, Auburn fell in the recent editions of the Amway Coaches Poll and Associated Press Top 25.

In the Coaches Poll, the Tigers fell five spots from No. 16 to No. 21, the highest-ranked four-loss team in the poll.

In the AP Top 25, Auburn fell five spots to No. 20.
