Jamel Dean is staying put in his home state. The former Auburn cornerback from Cocoa, Florida, has agreed to play 4 more seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jordan Schultz of The Score reports that Dean turned down higher-paying offers to stay with the Bucs, who will pay him up to $52 million over 4 years, with half of that guaranteed.

A third-round pick in 2019, Dean has played in 57 regular-season contests, making 38 starts. Over his 4-year career, Dean has recorded 193 tackles, 41 passes defended and 7 interceptions. In 2020, he helped the Bucs win Super Bowl LV.

Dean started all 15 regular-season games he played in 2022, logging 90% of the team’s defensive snaps. Dean recorded 2 picks in 2022, his third multi-interception season as a professional. He also had 57 tackles with 45 solo stops and a TFL.
