James Franklin explains why it has been hard to evaluate Auburn tape
James Franklin is trying to get ready for a big matchup this week when Auburn comes to town, and national attention is headed toward Beaver Stadium in the way of ESPN’s “College GameDay.” But Auburn’s previous opponents this season are making that difficult.
The Tigers have knocked off Akron, 60-10, and Alabama State, 62-0, to open the season.
Franklin has also praised QB Bo Nix’ start to the season. Nix is completing 74 percent of his passes for 383 yards with 5 touchdowns and no interceptions.
“He does a lot of things well,” Franklin said. “He’s athletic. He can make plays. He’s accurate. I’ve been impressed wit him.”
Franklin: “I think the biggest challenge for us is the way these first two games have played out, and the type of people they have played.”
Adds that it makes it difficult to evaluate Auburn’s tape.

Franklin is also promoting the “White Out” game that Penn State puts on, and expects it to be a special atmosphere.
James Franklin: “I’m willing to buy Halls for everyone who loses their voice at the game Saturday night. … I want these fans to go back to the SEC and say we love our football, but what they do up there at Penn State is special.”
