Jarquez Hunter appears set to play Saturday night for Auburn against Cal as the running back will return after he missed last week’s game against UMass.

Hunter missed Auburn’s first 4 days of fall camp in August. He was involved in a university investigation that began in May, after Hunter was the target of social media allegations, where explicit videos were posted. Auburn earlier this summer announced player suspensions and that it conducted an investigation, but did not specify the players after a purported sex tape circulated on social media.

Coach Hugh Freeze has declined to discuss Hunter’s status in recent weeks.

“I understand your question but matters related to team rules and procedures, they’re handled internally and will not be discussed publicly,” Freeze said.

Hunter in his Auburn career has 1,269 rushing yards and 10 career rush TD, which ranks 41st among Auburn career rushers. Some of his memorable plays last season included an 8-yard TD run at Mississippi State to give Tigers a 33-30 lead with 1:05 in regulation, and he also had a 62-yard touchdown reception at Georgia.
