Jeremiah Cobb, a 4-star running back out of Montgomery, Alabama, (Montgomery Catholic Preparatory) has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Cobb, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds, announced on social media that he would play at Auburn. Cobb is rated the No. 8 running back in the class of 2023, and the No. 18 player in the state of Alabama, according to the 247Sports Composite. He has a reported 33 offers. Cobb thanked God, his mother, coaches and teammates as part of the announcement.

Cobb was recruited to Auburn by Zac Etheridge and Cadillac Williams. Cobb is the third, and highest-rated of Auburn’s 2023 commitments.

Clemson and Tennessee were Cobb’s other finalists, narrowed down from a top six in May that also included Georgia, LSU and Texas.

The Montgomery Advertiser reported that Cobb rushed for 2,163 yards his junior year, averaging 11.1 yards per carry. He scored 30 touchdowns and added 561 yards and eight touchdowns receiving, leading Catholic to 13 wins and the Class 3A state semifinals. A two-sport star for the Knights, Cobb is a two-time state champion in track and runs a sub-11 second 100-meter dash.
