Kevin Steele weighs in on Auburn's coaching search, how it impacted Citrus Bowl prep
The Auburn Tigers had a very public coaching search wrap up recently, with Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin getting the Auburn job.
However, interim coach Kevin Steele was also a top candidate for the job, according to some reports. He’s also been getting the Tigers ready for Friday’s showdown with Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl.
On Thursday morning during his press conference, Steele weighed in on how the search impacted his past couple of weeks at the helm of the program:
Kevin Steele on the last few weeks for him: “it really wasn’t what you think it might be. I had a job to do, filling in for Coach… The main focus is we just stayed focus on our players…. Obviously there were other things going on, but that was not in my control.”

"When somebody else is controlling things, you just put your head down and do your job."

Steele and the Tigers are preparing to head to Orlando for the game later on Thursday. Can the Tigers beat a tough Northwestern team before the Bryan Harsin era begins?
