Auburn’s offense quickly drew criticism in the loss to Florida as the Tigers opened the game with two punts, two field goals and an interception.

QB Bo Nix was under heavy pressure most of the game, and Auburn struggled to develop a running game, something coach Gus Malzahn mentioned at halftime on the Auburn radio broadcast.

“We need to do something offensively,” Malzahn said. “We got to establish the run and get some first downs to help (the defense) out. The bottom line is we’ve got to run the football if we’re going to win this game. So we’re going to establish, our quarterback, we got to get our third down conversions and get us into some pace so we have a chance to get some rhythm.”

Not much of that materialized after halftime as Auburn struggled on third down and establishing the run. The Tigers were 2-for-14 on third down and Nix threw three interceptions.

Florida prevailed 24-13 as Auburn suffered its first loss of the season.
