LOOK: Malik Willis takes to Instagram to defend Jarrett Stidham amid criticism

When a team’s offense struggles, the quarterback is often the one who gets most of the blame, whether that’s fair or not.
After another sluggish offensive performance on Saturday in a 23-9 loss at Mississippi State, many Auburn fans questioned if starter Jarrett Stidham should be benched in favor of backup Malik Willis.
On Monday night, Willis came to Stidham’s defense, saying football is a team sport, so people need to lay off the quarterback:

That’s a very classy move from the backup quarterback, who has gotten a bit of playing time this season.
The job will likely be Willis’s soon enough (like in 2019), and it seems he’s doing nothing but supporting his teammate this fall.
