LOOK: Who took a bigger beating Saturday, Alabama's defense or Auburn's bushes?
Auburn’s offense rang up 168 rushing yards in the 26-14 win over Alabama on Saturday, but that ground game had nothing on the stampede of fans that trampled the bushes at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
One fan was trapped in the bushes on her way to the field.
It should take an expert landscaper to repair the bushes, if they’re able to be saved at all. Being the final home game of the season, the field crew at Auburn has plenty of time to repair or replace the damage by next season. And given the result and outlook on the rest of this season, the Tigers should have no problem writing a check or adjusting a budget to pay for it.
The win setup a rematch with Georgia, this time in the SEC Championship Game, as Auburn has dramatically improved its odds of making the College Football Playoff by beating the No. 1 team in the country two of the last three weeks.
