Media reacts to Auburn's upset over Alabama
In one of the most exciting Iron Bowls ever, Auburn shocked Alabama and the college football world with a 48-45 victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Auburn survived after a late missed field goal by Alabama, and then the Crimson Tide were flagged for an illegal substitution with just over a minute that allowed the Tigers to drain the clock.
Like his rant about the late first-half ruling that allowed Auburn one second to kick a field goal before halftime, plenty of people enjoyed Alabama coach Nick Saban’s reaction to the late penalty.
Here’s a collection of tweets from media across the SEC and the country:
What an incredible game and extraordinary win for Auburn. For all of Nick Saban’s success, Jordan-Hare has been his graveyard.

Oh my goodness. Gus just hoodwinked Nick for a penalty that ends the game.

Aabama. Woof.
Utah, win and in, I guess? We all kind of lose – I love watching Alabama’s skill guys. 515 yards and lose! This coming from a guy who gave out Auburn +3.5— Jason McIntyre (@jasonrmcintyre) December 1, 2019
Say this for Gus Malzahn: For a guy who is only 33-23 in SEC matchups as Auburn’s head coach, he sure has coached in a HELL of a lot of entertaining games since he got to Auburn
