The departure of offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee has left a big opening on the coaching staff that Auburn has been unable to fill.

Gus Malzahn is reportedly looking for someone who can bring ideas of his own to the staff and add to Auburn’s unique offensive scheme. Some believed Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich would be a good choice for the Tigers, but he may no longer be a possibility.

Robert Allen, a radio show host for Triple Play Sports Radio, tweeted that Yurcich has taken his name out of the hat for the Auburn job.

With National Signing Day drawing ever closer, finding an offensive coordinator remains a high priority for Malzahn and the Tigers.
