The Auburn Tigers are still without a coach, as it seems multiple factions of boosters and key administrators have different opinions on who should replace Gus Malzahn.

It seemed at one point that interim coach Kevin Steele was the favorite to land the job, but new reports have the Tigers opening up the search more after fan backlash.

Per Steven Godfrey, Steele remains in contention for the job, along with Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian, Louisiana coach Billy Napier and Clemson OC Tony Elliott. Godfrey added current West Virginia coach Neal Brown to the mix:

Brown is in his second season with the Mountaineers, having compiled a 10-11 overall record thus far.

The Auburn search seems to be getting more complicated by the day, so we’ll see if Brown becomes a serious contender moving forward.
