One in, one out: Report reveals changes to Auburn defensive availability for Citrus Bowl

Auburn will reportedly be without one key defensive back for Friday’s Citrus Bowl against Northwestern – just not the defender previously reported.
AL.com’s Matt Zenitz had two updates on Thursday night. Tigers standout cornerback Roger McCreary is reportedly unavailable for Saturday. The news wasn’t all bad, though. Jamien Sherwood, a reported opt-out, has had a “change of heart” per Zenitz and made the trip to Orlando to play in the game.
McCreary leads the team in interceptions with 3 picks on the year. He has also recorded 45 total tackles, including 7 TFL, 6 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.
The report earlier this week stated that Sherwood, a junior, was expected to declare for the NFL Draft. The junior is third on the team with 65 tackles. He has also recorded 3 PBUs, a sack, a QB hurry and a fumble recovery.
Saturday’s game is set for 1 p.m. ET/noon CT on ABC.
While McCreary will be out, a different Auburn DB who wasn’t originally expected to play in the Citrus Bowl may end up playing.
