Current Auburn AD Jay Jacobs will be retiring in June of 2018 at the absolute latest, so the Tigers have been busy searching for his replacement.

Now, it appears they have their man, and they’ll dip into the MAC to bring a new AD to The Plains.

According to 247Sports, Auburn will hire Buffalo AD Allen Greene, making him only the second African-American AD in SEC history.

At age 40, Greene is also one of the youngest ADs in the country. His move to Auburn reportedly still has to be approved by the school’s board of trustees, but that likely won’t be much of an issue.

Whether Jacobs steps down immediately after that or sticks around to show Greene the ropes remains to be seen.

Greene does have SEC experience, though, serving as an assistant AD at Ole Miss from 2009 to 2012.
