The growing popularity of the NCAA transfer portal has given coaching staffs everywhere a lot to deal with in the early goings of the 2021 offseason.

The transfer portal has already claimed two players from Auburn’s running back room. Redshirt freshman Mark-Antony Richards was the first Tiger ball-carrier to enter. Richards has not announced a new team, but two weeks ago he told an Auburn beat reporter he would be leaving the program and looking for a fresh start elsewhere. DJ Williams was the second Tiger running back to enter the portal. He wasted no time in transferring to Florida State.

Now, Rivals is reporting that Auburn has shown “serious interest” in a MAC running back currently in the transfer portal: Buffalo’s Kevin Marks.  A junior, Marks was the Bulls’ second-leading rusher, recording 741 yards and 7 touchdowns on 112 carries over seven games. Marks could provide some depth as Auburn looks to return leading rusher Tank Bigsby and veteran Shaun Shivers.
