Report reveals injury Cam Newton suffered in Patriots practice
Cam Newton’s Friday OTA practice reps ended early due to a hand injury. A new report offers details to what happened to Newton at New England Patriots practice.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, per a source, that Newton suffered a slight bone bruise after banging his hand on a helmet. Reports from practice noted that Newton continued to watch practice and encourage his teammates after he had stopped taking reps.
It does not sound like Newton’s injury is serious. Rapoport notes that since it is still early in the offseason, Newton may take it easy until the Patriots open training camp.
Newton re-signed with the Patriots this offseason. In OTAs, the team also has Brian Hoyer, Jarrett Stidham and new draft pick Mac Jones.
#Patriots QB Cam Newton suffered a slight bone bruise today at practice, banging his hand on a helmet, source said. Not considered major at all, but since it’s the Spring, we may not see much more of him until training camp.
