Per CBSSports.com, Tommy Tuberville is running for U.S. Senate in Alabama and he’s hired President Trump’s former press secretary Sean Spicer to work on his campaign.
Tuberville will run as a Republican candidate. He considered running for governor in 2017, but he ultimately decided not to run.
The Republican primary is March 3, 2020, with the general election November 3, 2020.
Tuberville coached at Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech and Cincinnati during his head coaching career, compiling a 159-99 overall record. His most successful stint came at Auburn where he finished with a 85-40 overall record, including the 2004 undefeated season that unfortunately left Auburn out of the BCS National Championship.
