According to a report by AuburnUndercover’s Brandon Marcello, two of Gus Malzahn’s right hand men and closest confidants  have resigned.

Auburn’s director of football operations, Jamie Croley — the brother-in-law of Malzahn, and assistant athletics director for football and Malzahn’s chief liaison, David Gunn, have resigned.

According to Croley’s bio, he’s a certified trainer and has had a long career in sports medicine and athletics administration, and he told AL.com he resigned to help Malzahn and his wife start a charity.

“I want to help this foundation get started,” Croley told the site. “I still get to work with family, both Gus and Kristi now. … It’s an opportunity that I feel like to give back to people. The goal is to get that thing up and running.”

Gunn joined Auburn prior to 2013 after serving 11 seasons at Arkansas State, and it’s still unknown why he resigned from the program.
