Ron Roberts did not agree with a fan critical of Auburn’s defense on Georgia star Brock Bowers. And the defensive coordinator fired back at an accusation that Auburn didn’t bracket the All-American tight end.

Bowers had 8 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown as Georgia prevailed 27-20. A fan then reposted those stats, and added, “Yet we didn’t double/bracket this guy” with a clown emoji and tagged Roberts’ X/Twitter account.

Roberts responded: “Don’t know what game u we’re watching! He was bracketed most of the day.”

On the drive that gave Georgia the lead, Bowers caught a pass from Carson Beck coming over the middle, wiggled away from a couple of defenders and ran away from the rest of the defense to score from 40 yards out with 2:52 left. The tight end had 4 catches for 121 yards in the fourth quarter and and that included a 3rd-and-long to keep the go-ahead drive alive.

Auburn did its best job against Georgia early in the game. It held Carson Beck to just 77 yards passing in the first half, but Beck finished 23-of-33 for 313 yards with an interception and touchdown. Bowers had 8 catches for 157 yards for his 2nd straight 100-yard game. He had just 9 yards before halftime.
