It’s shaping up to be a big year in Auburn and expectations are high for new starting QB Jarrett Stidham.

Coming off a year in which the Tigers made it to the Sugar Bowl before losing to Oklahoma, the goals are even loftier heading into 2017.

On Saturday, SEC Network analysts Gene Chizik and Greg McElroy got together to pick every Auburn game, and they generally agreed with each other, but with one important distinction.

As you can see, Chizik — who guided the Tigers to the 2010 national championship — had his former team finishing the year at 9-3, with losses to Clemson, LSU and Alabama:

Surprisingly, McElroy — a former Alabama quarterback — had Auburn finishing one game better than Chizik did, flipping the LSU game to a win:

Auburn has its sights set on an SEC title and a spot in the College Football Playoff this year, but McElroy said another trip to the Sugar Bowl seems more likely for coach Gus Malzahn’s squad.
