No. 12 Auburn takes on No. 4 Georgia on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but Tigers coach Gus Malzahn might be aiming a few verbal barbs elsewhere.

On his weekly “Tiger Talk” radio show on Thursday, Malzahn brought up the subject of scheduling, alluding to teams they have played thus far in 2019:

Auburn has 5 teams on its schedule currently ranked in the College Football Playoff Top 25: No. 1 LSU, No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Oregon and No. 11 Florida. While the Tigers are 1-2 in those games with a win over the Ducks and losses to LSU and the Gators, they still have the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide to go. Not many teams can claim to have faced a schedule like Auburn’s in 2019.

The Tigers were off in Week 11, but dropped in the updated College Football Playoff selection committee rankings from No. 11 to No. 12. Undefeated Minnesota moved up from No. 17 to No. 8 while Alabama and Penn State both dropped – but remained in the top 10 – after suffering their first losses of the season.
