It appears there will be a Bowden on Clemson’s coaching staff once again.

Tommy Bowden once roamed the sidelines of the ACC’s version of Death Valley from 1999 until his midseason firing in 2008, when he was replaced by some guy named Dabo Swinney, and led the Tigers to a 72-45 overall record during that time. Now, according to David Hood of Tiger Net, Tommy’s brother Terry has joined the Clemson coaching staff.

Believe it or not, Terry Bowden has entered the Master’s Degree program at Clemson and will an unpaid graduate intern according to Tiger Net.

I guess you could say Terry is Clemson’s version of Butch Jones.

Last season, Terry Bowden served as Akron’s head coach but he was dismissed following a 4-8 campaign. Bowden’s best coaching job came during his years at Auburn, where he led the Tigers to a 47-17-1 record from 1993 until 1998. He also has head coaching experience at Salem, Samford and North Alabama.
