Former Auburn RB Asa Martin has landed at his third school in a year.

Martin is now at Memphis, according to Evan Barnes of the Commercial Appeal, and has three years of eligibility remaining. He will not be eligible this season.

Martin left Auburn after his family was allegedly upset about the coaching staff burning a redshirt, as he played in five games in 2018. But after six months at Miami, he entered the transfer portal in June.

The Miami Herald reported that the Hurricanes never got a real look at the 5-foot-11, 209-pound halfback because he sat out much of the spring with an injury which kept him out for both of Miami’s public scrimmages. He would have had to sit out the 2019 season at Miami anyway, as coach Manny Diaz said the school wouldn’t submit a waiver request to play immediately.

As a 4-star recruit out of high school, Martin rushed for 2,228 yards and 33 touchdowns in his senior year when he was also named the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year.
