Will Gus Malzahn have more assistant coach searching to do this offseason?

Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimes is interviewing for a position on the Cincinnati coaching staff, according to a report from AL.com’s Brandon Marcello.

Grimes, who has been with the Tigers for the duration of Malzahn’s three-year stint, is expected to take the job from Cincinnati if one is offered, per the report.

He has helped oversee some quality rushing performances during his time with the Tigers, including SEC rushing titles for Tre Mason and Cameron Artis-Payne.

According to Marcello, a potential candidate to replace Grimes would be Penn State offensive line coach Herb Hand, who is close friends with Malzahn stemming back to their days together as co-offensive coordinators at Tulsa. Hand was previously the offensive line coach at Vanderbilt under James Franklin.

Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville is the head coach at Cincinnati.
