Tre Mason’s attempted comeback hit a snag recently as the former Auburn Tiger standout has been injured while playing in the Canadian Football League.

Mason has not played in the NFL since the 2015 season but landed an opportunity to play in the CFL last season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In his debut CFL season, Mason rushed for 809 yards and three touchdowns on 160 carries for the team.

Unfortunately, Mason is expected to miss the majority, if not all, of the upcoming CFL season after tearing his ACL. The injury occurred at the end of the previous CFL season, according to Taylor Shire of the Global News. The Roughriders GM, Jeremy O’Day has confirmed Mason’s injury during his most recent media availability.

The upcoming CFL season begins in June, following May’s preseason.
