Auburn lands commitment from highly-coveted transfer big man from North Carolina

Walker Kessler was a 5-star big man in the 2020 recruiting class. He committed to North Carolina, though Auburn was heavily involved until the end.

As a freshman in 2020-21, Kessler played in 29 games for the Tar Heels, averaging 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

But, he entered the transfer portal this offseason and, on Monday, he made a decision to move on from Chapel Hill. As you can see below, the Georgia native took to Instagram to announce that he had committed to Auburn:

Kessler is a huge addition (literally and figuratively) to Bruce Pearl’s squad for 2021-22. We’ll see what sort of role he can carve out for himself with a team that likes to launch 3-pointers.
