Walker Kessler spent only 1 year at Auburn, but his production during the 2021-22 season was enough to vault him into the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

Kessler was taken No. 22 overall in the recent draft, going to the Memphis Grizzlies. But, he was soon traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and has now arrived in Minnesota to begin his pro career.

And, in a very cool tribute, Kessler will wear No. 31, which was the same jersey number his grandfather, Jay Kessler, wore while playing for the University of Minnesota in the early 1960s:

Kessler will now begin his Timberwolves career alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. We’ll see how he works himself into the team’s rotation this upcoming season!
