Marlon Davidson has already made some key plays for Auburn this season, starting with a 33-yard fumble return against Missouri.

On Monday, the defensive lineman all but promised more when discussing Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. Eastern game at LSU. Davidson, who last year was the first true freshman to start the season opener on the defensive line in the last 30 years, has 16 tackles this season, including four for a loss. He returned in the Missouri game after he missed the Mercer game with a left knee injury. That’s why Davidson was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week following the game.

“I feel like we got a good chance of going down there and having fun,” Davison said of LSU in a video by Jeff Shearer of AuburnTigers.com. “And playing good as a defense, and a team, and going down there and getting the job done.”

The LSU game represents a key matchup for one-loss Auburn which is still undefeated in SEC play. The Tigers, who have one SEC loss, could play spoiler as both Auburn and LSU still have Alabama remaining on their schedules.

Auburn won last year’s meeting, 18-13, on the strength of six field goals from Daniel Carlson.
