The Auburn Tigers got off to a hot start in the SEC Championship Game.

After a long week of preparation and wondering if star RB Kerryon Johnson would play, the Tigers started the game on offense with Johnson in the backfield. Auburn took the opening kickoff and mounted a steady drive down the field that spanned 75 yards and 5:06 in time of possession.

Johnson did carry the ball three times and was on the field a lot during the opening possession, but it was QB Jarrett Stidham who capped the drive with a six-yard laser to Nate Craig-Myers for the opening touchdown. Stidham was a perfect 4 for 4 on the drive and gave the Tigers an early lead over Georgia.
