Auburn made a huge statement on Saturday afternoon, blasting No. 1 Georgia 40-17 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Tigers are sure to rise well above their current No. 10 ranking when the updated College Football Playoff rankings are released on Tuesday night. However, they’ll be hungry to keep their dominant run going moving forward.

After a relatively easy game against Louisiana Monroe this weekend, the Tigers host likely No. 1 Alabama in the Iron Bowl on Nov. 24. Then, the Tigers would have to face Georgia once again in the SEC Championship Game.

Should Auburn win out, though, FiveThirtyEight gives the Tigers a 91-percent chance of making it to the final four:

Obviously, Auburn has one of the toughest roads to win out, but that’s what separates the champions from the mere contenders.

If the Tigers want to win it all, they’ll need to prove to the CFP committee that they belong in the final four, which won’t be easy due to the fact they lost two games earlier this season.
