If there’s one NFL coach who would fit right in at the college game, it’s Las Vegas Raiders’ coach Jon Gruden, who is similar in personality and energy to Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.

Gruden recently took part in one of college football’s historic traditions, and ran down the hill at Clemson after touching Howard’s Rock. At Clemson’s Memorial Stadium before every home game, Clemson players touch the rock before running down the hill in the east end zone.

There’s been a growing connection between the Raiders and Clemson since Gruden became the Las Vegas coach. The Raiders have drafted five former Clemson football players since 2019: Clelin Ferrell, Trayvon Mullen, Hunter Renfrow, Tanner Muse and John Simpson. Ferrell, a defensive end, was the No. 4 overall pick of the 2019 draft, while Renfrow has famously gone from Clemson walk-on to NFL receiver.

Gruden was at Clemson for Swinney’s All In Team Foundation’s 2021 All In Ball as the special guest.

Since 2009, Dabo’s All In Team Foundation has raised and donated over $6.6 MILLION to our core focus areas of Breast Cancer Research, The Family Effect, the LIFE Programs, and CallMeMISTER, as well as to hundreds of South Carolina-based research teams, non-profits, and organizations that have been doing their part to make our communities better, per Tiger Net.
